Science and the ukulele

In the Popular Science Monthly of 1925 (page 62), it was reported that Morris Rothman of Bayonne, New Jersey, had invented a walking stick that can convert instantly into a ‘ukelele’. From the photograph accompanying the report, it seems to have a very thin sound box. I’d prefer a ukulele thatĀ could convert into a walking stick — it would probably have a better tone.
